Mr. Sandman, won't you so kindly bring me a dream.
I love the extreme. I love intensity. I love spontaneity. I love passion. I love blood-rushing excitement. I love the feeling that makes your toes curl and your legs weak in the knees. I particularly love seeing faces enveloped with questions of who I am and where I come from. The kind of faces that light up with wide eyes, peculiar expressions and enlarged lips where I can see their smiles reaching out through their exposed teeth that render the type of smile that has everything I previously listed- extremities, intensity, spontaneity, passion, excitement, toe curling, weak-knee feelings- all represented in one simple smile.
My dear friend John grabbed my hand and said follow me. We left a group of conversations and cocktails for some snaps and isolation on the cliffs of Necker, that ended up being a public affair. It was, in its sense- extreme, intense, spontaneous, passionate and exciting. Not simply because it became public, but because being public and having people watch as we took photos on a cliff meant that we were doing something that people wanted to know about. The questions that I so love- who are you and where do you come from- were on everyones mind and I continued to parade around for the sake of scandal. Who am I? Where do I come from? That one is for you to decide.
“Life has no meaning. Each of us has meaning and we bring it to life. It is a waste to be asking the question when you are the answer.”- Joseph Campbell
