There is something so grand about vacationing with your friends during the summertime. Whether it be in the South of France, Positano, or The Hamptons, it's a special ordeal and something that should never lose its relevance. I've spent some time lately hopping around with friends and found myself desperately missing my city, New York. I recently watched the new Grace Kelly film, Grace of Monaco, and despite negative reviews, I quite enjoyed learning more about the acclaimed Princess and Actress. I've always loved how she eased with so much poise through the transition of being famous to being royalty. It must have been so difficult to leap into an entirely new life; one with social pressures, pre-determined rules and without her family and friends. Her history is something to be admired and is something lifted straight out of a fairytale.
I began thinking of how to reinvent this iconic history with my own sparkle; I tried to imagine myself as Grace Kelly in my old-fashioned metallic leopard dress, gold jewelry and Rapunzel locks. In the end, I decided that I can spend my days daydreaming about being in an era far different than my own, or I can wake up, look outside and see the beauty that the universe has given me in this day and age.
Sometimes it's good to dream and float back in time; especially when you can play dress up along the way, but I chose this life now and forever. Bonjour from Central Park.
