I had been out the night prior in Williamsburg for dinner with my dear friends Adrian and Emerald. They own the gallery Olsen Gruin that you see me posting about all the time on Orchard Street and are two incredibly special friends of mine. As I basically hijacked the entire dinner to talk about myself and a few stories that were taking over my mind’s existence (which I cannot tell you, because they may end up being screenplays someday), I looked at my calendar to see what my Monday had in store and quickly realized that I had eight meetings over the span of thirteen hours on the books. That’s an insane Monday morning, even for me...

It's was 22h00 my time on a Tuesday night and instead of going out like normal twenty-something girls in New York City, I was thinking about the gym. I realized that I haven't trained in three days due to my social / work/ life calendar, so I put on a sports bra, pulled up some tights, zipped up a sweatshirt, tied my tennis shoes, velcroed my training gloves, grabbed my snapback and took the elevator up to the 8th floor and day-dreamed about my soon-to-be body...

Bethany is my best friend. We share secrets, finish each other's sentences, and occasionally do something naughty- like split a McChicken and fries at McDonalds. On this particular day, we attended the baby shower of our friend Emma and spent the rest of the day doing what we do best- running around the West Village taking photos, sitting at a cafe working for a number of hours glued to our screens, and then getting massages together at our favorite local Chinese massage parlor on 8th street (found here, in my New York City Guide)...

The best thing about New York City, is the fact that you can be casually walking down the street and someone will hand you a bouquet of white flowers, just because. I created my City Guides, because I really truly love finding the best of the best everywhere I go. This doesn’t mean that restaurants have to have a Michelin Star, shops have to be the most expensive, and bars have to be the most exclusive; rather, I look for things that have character, are interesting, and provide me with unique experiences. New York is my favorite city on the planet, so naturally my New York City Guide is my favorite...

Some advice to the salesmen out there- be aggressive.
For my pipeline, current and past, I literally cold-called the C-suite at many of the companies I was trying to reach. I'm notoriously known for getting responses for my crafty and thought-out emails and cold-calls. If you have something interesting to say and you are able to tell the story in an interesting manner, people will generally listen to you. If people don't, you most likely suck at your story-telling, so you might have to revert to sending out GIFs and stalking people with odd gifts such as: trashcans, french fries and plane tickets...

Have you guys seen the Pulitzer-winning documentary Citizenfour directed by Laura Poitras, concerning Edward Snowden and the NSA spying scandal? If not, this is exactly what you should be doing this weekend. That and seeing The Danish Girl. Poitras is showcasing a solo exhibition called Astro Noise at the Whitney Museum of American Art with an immersive installation showcasing pieces into the surveillance in post- 9/11 America. Launching February 5th- May 1st...

I would like to dedicate this post to kindness.
When I was in New York City a few weeks back, I had the opportunity to learn more about a friend of mine that is quite dear to me. We discussed how he had a few pivotal moments in his life that had changed everything for him. He met two people that gave him immense opportunity and then those people ended up ultimately sculpting his career path. I got to thinking how I've always entirely believed that I am where I am at, because of the place I was in, the people I met and the experiences that happened to me along the way...

Back in New York and loving my life. New York is one of those places that gets under your skin (in a good way). It's the kind of place that makes you have anxiety and keeps you on your toes. It's so hyper competitive that you are constantly in good company with top tier talent in every industry, so it encourages you, whether you like it or not, to have this insatiable work ethic. Understanding the cities complex culture takes time, but once you taste a spoonful of what the city can offer you- you'll be hooked...

Picture this: I was in NYC the other day stuck in a cab in the middle of Times Square, the worst place in all of New York to be stuck in a cab during rush hour. I had a meeting downtown and decided that my outfit required more of a "sidewalk to cab ordeal" versus the standard "smelly, stairy subway"...

Just last week, a good friend of mine asked me if he should invest in real estate in New York City, because he had read an article on LinkedIn recommending it a couple of weeks prior and he wanted to put his money somewhere safe for a few years. What a horrible idea!
