Have you guys seen the Pulitzer-winning documentary Citizenfour directed by Laura Poitras, concerning Edward Snowden and the NSA spying scandal? If not, this is exactly what you should be doing this weekend. That and seeing The Danish Girl. Poitras is showcasing a solo exhibition called Astro Noise at the Whitney Museum of American Art with an immersive installation showcasing pieces into the surveillance in post- 9/11 America. Launching February 5th- May 1st.
Just yesterday, I was drinking champagne and eating chocolate covered raisons at The King Cole Bar at the St. Regis (one of my favorite locations in all of New York City) with a dear friend of mine and we were discussing all the great films that have been coming out lately. Back in March, I was sitting next to two guys that were discussing HBO's documentary on Scientology called Going Clear, and I still have yet to see it. They were raving about it and having the most entertaining debrief on the subject matter. I, of course, was eavesdropping into their conversation, but they were also talking extremely loud, so that I would hear every word in our communal-like table in the East Village. Anyways, this weekend I want to do nothing more than watch television until my eyes hurt, so that is exactly what I plan on doing.
I really need a new LinkedIn photo. I don't have any photos of me smiling that isn't with me touching my hair, raising my arm or doing something that looks professional enough for LinkedIn. I wish I had this look with me smiling. Why do I always forget to smile and instead opt for that duck face that everyone laughs at me for? This could have been perfect in my Etro, but no, I opted for the "sultry-look", versus the "professional-smile" look. Sometimes I hate my decisions.
