Never before have we seen a culture that is so interested in creation. I find it to be completely fascinating. Growing up with technology at the forefront of my education, I have been immersed since the beginning days of dial-up internet when online shopping was something that most retailers never could have imagined would actually take shape. A favorite of mine, Net-a-porter, has continued to impress me over the years. Not only are they the number one luxury e-commerce site (a site that has had my paychecks since 2000), but they have expanded to mens with Mr. Porter, extended editorial from The Edit on their website to creating a full-fledging editorial magazine with Porter and their team travels all around the globe capturing the hottest attractions for international jet-setters abroad. It's entirely bananas! Mark Sebba, their beloved CEO for years has finally decided to step down after leading the company into becoming one of the most incredible fashion powerhouses out there. Mr. Sebba is one of the coolest, wisest and kindest CEOs I've even known, so I am very interested in seeing where they are headed next with their new lead.
I am apart of the millennial generation; the generation that has the largest saturated pool of writers than every before. The kind of generation where everyone has a blog, tells their point of view to the world and is on every single social media platform possible. The generation that has the aspirations to change the world and the power and ability to actually do it. A totally consumed generation continuously chasing the dream and trying to one-up everyone else with their selfie. However we choose to spin it, we are a generation that is full of excitement and Interested in the Interesting. The average just doesn't cut it. My friend David wrote a book that was published last year called, Fast Future: How the Millennial Generation is Shaping Our World. It's a great read by a true millennial in the very sense of the word. As you can see here, I like to create the interesting and mix unusual prints together; in this case, two things that are totally overwhelming, but paired together kind of look like wicked dream.
